Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
1. Who we are
Velare ("we", "us", "our") is a licensed recruitment firm based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, operating the website at recruitment.velare.ae. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in connection with our recruitment services.
For any privacy question, contact our data protection contact at privacy@velare.ae.
2. Scope
This policy applies to candidates, client contacts, website visitors, and anyone else whose personal data we process in the course of operating our recruitment business. It covers data collected through this website, through direct correspondence, and from third-party sources where we have a lawful basis to do so.
3. What we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Identity and contact data — name, email address, phone number, and postal address.
- Professional data — CV or résumé, employment history, education, professional qualifications, references, right-to-work documentation, and salary expectations.
- Assessment data — interview notes, competency assessments, and, where applicable and with consent, psychometric results.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, referring URLs, and pages viewed, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
- Correspondence — emails, meeting notes, and messages exchanged with our consultants.
We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data (such as health, religion, or political opinion) unless you volunteer it or it is necessary for a specific role — in which case we rely on your explicit consent.
4. How we use it
We process personal data to:
- Match candidates with appropriate roles and represent them to clients with their consent.
- Fulfil our contractual commitments to client organisations who have engaged us for search or recruitment services.
- Communicate with you about live mandates, market insights, and service updates.
- Comply with legal obligations, including record-keeping required under UAE recruitment licensing regulations.
- Protect our business, our clients, and our candidates from fraud, misrepresentation, and misuse of our services.
- Improve our website, our processes, and our service quality.
5. Legal basis
Our lawful bases for processing personal data are: your consent (which you can withdraw at any time); performance of a contract to which you are a party (for example, representing you for a specific role); our legitimate interests in operating a recruitment business; and compliance with legal obligations that apply to licensed recruitment firms in the UAE.
6. Who we share it with
We only share your personal data in the following circumstances:
- With prospective employers, where you have given us explicit permission for that specific submission. We keep a log of every submission and will share it with you on request.
- With service providers acting on our behalf (for example, background check providers, psychometric assessment providers, IT and hosting providers) under written confidentiality agreements.
- With regulators, courts, or other lawful authorities where we are required by law to do so.
We do not sell personal data to third parties, ever.
7. International transfers
Because our clients and candidates are global, personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UAE. Where we make such transfers, we rely on contractual safeguards and, where applicable, the consent of the individual concerned.
8. Retention
We retain candidate data for up to 24 months from our last substantive contact with you, unless you ask us to delete it sooner, or unless a longer retention period is required by law (for example, records related to a completed placement). Client engagement records are retained for the duration of the commercial relationship and up to seven years thereafter, consistent with UAE commercial record-keeping requirements.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate data, to request deletion, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@velare.ae. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security; if you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please notify us immediately.
11. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies as described in our separate Cookie Policy.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated directly to active candidates and clients.
